Main Duties & Responsibilities

Manages the Ring Power Service Department in such a manner that both the company and its customers receive the maximum return on their investment.

 

Operates the Service Department on a profitable basis and offer best possible product support to our customer. Controls direct expenses, expense hours, and new machine service and policy allowance warranties.

 

Answers customer requests for service in a timely manner.

 

Maintains customer relations by estimating or quoting all repairs, notifying customer of additional repairs needed, addressing customer complaints and resolving them within the same day, if possible, and notifying customer of any changes in work status regarding their equipment.

 

Assists salesmen in preparing estimates.

 

Furnishes estimates to customers in a timely manner.

 

Ensures warranty decisions are made promptly using established guidelines.

 

Notifies customers of the warranty status on specific failures promptly.

 

Reviews service reports carefully to insure accuracy and complete information.

 

Controls the purchase of tools and supplies. Recommends the purchase of new major tools are made to the general service manager. Insures that tools are returned to the tool room.

 

Maintains equipment and facilities to Ring Power's standards.

 

Maintains the appearance of service equipment and tools to provide a positive image.

 

Ensures shop office is to be kept in an orderly and clean fashion.

 

Directly supervises employees on the administration team.

 

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

15 to 20 years of experience in Service and Service management.


Computer skills in dealer computer systems, Microsoft Office and Cat programs.

 
Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.


Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills.

 

High School Diploma or related equivalent required.


Two years of college or university or related equivalent experience preferred.
