Main Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Job Role

Respond to emergencies and security incidents, providing leadership and direction to ensure a timely and effective response.

 

Generate reports on security incidents, provide analysis and recommendations for improvement.

 

Assist Senior Security and Telecommunications Manager to develop, implement and enforce security plans, policies, standards, and procedures that comply with the organization's objectives, regulations, and best practices.

 

Coordinate with IT staff and external vendors to ensure optimal functionality and reliability of security systems, cameras and tools. Monitor and evaluate performance and effectiveness regularly. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical problems that arise.

 

Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify potential risks and implement preventative measures.

 

Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as senior management, law enforcement, regulators, employees, and business partners.

 

Participate in security training and awareness programs. and stay updated on the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices, and implement them as appropriate.

 

Manages and maintains corporate security system access rights.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.

Clearly documents sources, and organizes the information according to the research needs.

 

Planning and Organizing: Creates realistic schedules and follows them. Evaluates progress against schedule and goal. Identifies the sequence of tasks and the resources needed to achieve a goal, and prioritizes key action steps. Anticipates the impacts / risks of actions. Seeks and uses others' input about critical actions, timelines, sequencing, scope, methodology, expected outcomes, and priorities. Adjusts plans based on input.

 

Interpersonal Skill: Anticipates, notices, and understands concerns of others, involving them in a process or decision to ensure their support. Develops and maintains positive relationships. Considerate and discreet in handling challenging, awkward or tense interpersonal situations, focusing on issues and interests instead of people or positions. Knows when to escalate critical issues when unsuccessful in gaining support.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Formal Education Associate Degree or certification equivalent in a related field of study

Experience 3-4 years

 

Required / Credentials

Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.

 

High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethics, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.

 

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

 

Strong knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies, such as physical security, cyber security, risk management, and compliance.

 

Not Required but Highly Desired Criteria

A certification in security management, such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).

 

Multitasking, problem equipment-solving, communication, and analytical skills.

 

Detail oriented.

 

Data analytics.

 

Affluent communication skills.

 

Good business sense.

 

Updating of Knowledge

Job requirements change requiring re-training to stay current every 1-2 years.
