Primary Job Role
Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises. Ensures nothing leaves the yard without proper assigned paperwork.
Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences into gate log. Takes photos of all machines being delivered.
Answers telephone, takes messages, answers questions from coordinators or salesmen, and provides information to outside drivers needing directions and documentation.
Organizes machine inventory and keeps accurate records of each piece of equipment that leaves and arrives on the yard; i.e. time of day, dates, hours, noting damages, attachments, customer and mode of transportation.
Ensures equipment is unloaded and placed in its proper place and appropriate people are notified.
Ensures all equipment on ready line will start. Notifies the new sales department, rental department, or used department if machine is not properly serviced or has damages prior to going out to a customer.
Ensures all machines have proper amounts of antifreeze in radiators during winter months.
Keeps Transportation office and grounds neat and orderly as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Formal Education High School diploma or GED
Experience 6 months or less
Required / Credentials
Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
Must possess a valid driver's license and driver record must be in good standing.
Not Required but Highly Desired Criteria
General knowledge of equipment, how to operate heavy equipment, and rental machinery.
