Main Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Job Role

 

Maintains customer tax exemption status. Inputs tax exemption information. Removes tax exemption status from accounts with expired certificates. Sends updates to customers with expired exemption certificates.

 

Answers employee inquiries on sales tax exemption/ application policies. Assists with customer/ branch calls regarding account status.

 

Maintains Sales & Use Tax Manuals on the public drive, with information and updates to changes in sales tax by each state. Informing branch personnel with yearly updates. Review multiple reports from DBS and Sales Tax App.

 

Reviews invoices to determine if valid tax adjustment can be processed. Processes sales tax adjustments for invoices on customers account.

 

Reviews and inputs Notice to Owners with maintaining log information for each job. Processes Release of Liens from general email for incoming payments as well as all Notice to Owners filed. Processes Notice of Non-Payments for delinquent invoices.

 

Helps assist periodically with General Clerks in daily duties. Answering phones, creating cash accounts, emailing invoice copies to customers, monthly statements & scanning.

 

Handles Credit Card Fraud & Disputes. Gathers information from disputed transactions and submit to JP Morgan/Chase. Communicates directly with branch manager personnel to resolve.

 

Oversee and assist on credit card machine log by branch location. Troubleshooting with credit card & Certegy machines with any technical issues. Corresponds directly with credit card account rep at JP Morgan/Chase with updates.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

 

Formal Education High School diploma or GED

 

Experience 1-2 years

 

Required / Credentials

 

Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.

 

Not Required but Highly Desired Criteria

 

Sales tax experience in a multi state environment is desired.

 

Organizational and multi-tasking skills.

 

Dedication to continuous learning and supporting customers and staff.

 

Self-motivation and ability to thrive in a fast-paced self-directed environment.

 

Proficient in Word, Excel, and Microsoft applications.

 

Updating of Knowledge

 

Job requirements occasionally change requiring re-training to stay current every 3-5 years.
