Main Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for all new sales of Lift truck equipment by performing the following duties.

 

Develops plans and implements activities to promote products.

 

Attends and participates in tradeshows locally and nationally. Maintains membership and participates in appropriate trade and business associations.

 

Stays current on all technology associated with products and markets.

 

Ensures proper coverage of sales territory.

 

Maintains direct sales responsibility of selected accounts.

 

Stays current with all marketing programs from manufacturers represented. Ensures all manufacturers' policies are observed.

 

Assists Managers in Developing annual Goals and Objectives for the market and review progress monthly.

 

Keeps management informed of important sales activity.

 

Develops, monitors, and maintains customer accounts. Establishes proper credit levels for new customers. Maintains customer accounts in good standing and keeps call reports current weekly.

 

Makes regular sales calls to maintain existing customers as assigned to ensure relationship is maintained.

 

Provides technical and sales support to customers on a regular basis. This support should include the development of "lunch and learn sessions" to provide individual and group presentations for the purpose of new product updates and product improvements. These functions should include the resources of the factory and field personnel whenever deemed necessary.

 

Performs regular "cold calls" on new customers in order to expand the existing customer base.


Provides support and maintain regular contact with customers as assigned.

 

Maintains a schedule that maximizes the effectiveness of the time spent in the field and the office and provide this weekly itinerary to the Manager.

 

Develops and submit a yearly forecast and marketing plan.

 

Tracks all quotes including jobs won, jobs pending, jobs lost and jobs developing as required. Coordinate with manager to insure hot sheets are turned in weekly.

 

Timely reporting of above information as required.

 

Continued pursuit of personal and professional growth and development within industry.

 

Maintains a positive attitude and professional appearance.

 

Attends meetings deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications

2 to 5 years of experience in Sales with an emphasis in Capital Equipment required.


Knowledge of Word, Excel and Lotus notes preferred.


Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.


Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills.

 

High School Diploma or related equivalent required.


Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university or related equivalent experience preferred.
