Main Duties & Responsibilities

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the repair and recondition of equipment in their division location by performing the following duties.

 

Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required.

 

Requisitions materials.

 

Examines defective machinery to determine cause of malfunction and supervises repairs.

 

Inspects work in progress and finished products.

 

Assists with studies of production schedules and the estimates of worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

 

Interprets company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.

 

Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet repair schedules.

 

Recommends measures to improve production/repair methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

 

Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

 

Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

 

Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

 

Maintains time and production records.

 

Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

 

Performs activities of workers supervised.

Qualifications

Over five (5) years up to and including seven (7) years of experience in working with Heavy Equipment required.


Knowledge of the industry and products for his division location.


Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.


Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills.

 

High School diploma or equivalent required.


Post High School education including a specialized technical course or equivalent years experience as a Technician preferred.
