Main Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Job Role
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories and other sources.

 

Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers at the store or by phone.

 

Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog and emphasizes salable features.

 

Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.

 

Maintains a schedule that maximizes the effectiveness of the time spent in the field and the office and provide this schedule to the Manager.

 

Tracks all quotes including jobs won, jobs pending, jobs lost and jobs developing as required.

 

Continued pursuit of personal and professional growth and development within industry.

 

Represents the organization in a positive and professional way in appearance and all interactions.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
Formal Education High School diploma or GED

 

Experience 1-2 years

 

Required / Credentials
Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.

 

Not Required but Highly Desired Criteria
Bachelor's Degree from a four year college or university or related equivalent experience desired.

 

Updating of Knowledge
Job requirements occasionally change requiring re-training to stay current every 3-5 years.
